Life Happens: Elizabeth Anthony

“Life Happens,” this is the quote that I would give Arron When I had an off week. It was my way of giving myself permission to lose sight of my goal. One day in August 2005, I saw Arron while I was working out and approached him about my weight loss goals. That day changed me life. It was the birth of a “new” Liz.

I have not only loss weight; I have loss emotional baggage, and some unhealthy habits. I have gained a friend and brother, a new sense of self, and much more discipline. When I first started working with Arron I was resistant and set in my ways. There would be days when I spent most to my session complaining and saying what I was not going to do. He was firm, honest, and refused to fall victim to my scare tactics.

After our first few sessions I wanted to drop him as my trainer. But I am so glad I didn’t. As I began to follow his instructions I began to notice a change in my life on the inside, and the outside began to follow. He is an excellent motivator and doesn’t take no for an answer. Losing weight has been one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done. It wasn’t just about the weight, I learned so much about myself. Arron challenged the way I thought, and provided much more than just advice about losing weight; he provided insight about life.

God put Arron in my life and I will forever be grateful. The day my weight fell below 190 pounds, I cried. I never believed that I could weigh less than 195 pounds. The last time I remember being small, I was in 4th grade. When I started with Arron, I weighed 206 pounds and wore a size 18. I told him my goals was to wear a size 14. Today I weigh 169 pound and I wear a size 8/10, and I’m loving it. The first time I heard a family member tell me I was getting too small. I thought to myself, “Hmm, Liz too small, who woulda thunk it.”

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say Thank You, to the man who didn’t let me get away with anything. I am and will always be grateful.
